Harvard Medical School
Congress Faculty Profile
PhD, MSc
Professor of Neurobiology & Neuroimmunology
Harvard Medical School
United States Faculty
Academic Biography & Scope
Prof. Clara Sterling is a pioneer in microglia-mediated synaptic pruning and target-driven neuroimmunotherapy. Over the past twenty years, her research group has decoded how glial cells guide axonal pathfinding and synaptic stability. Her keynote lecture at GCNR 2027 will address therapeutic microglia modulation as a tool for synaptic rebuilding in progressive degenerative diseases.

Academic Biography & Scope
Dr. Kenzo Takahashi bridges the gap between active neuroprosthetics and biological interfaces. He chairs the Tokyo Synaptic Prosthesis Initiative, which has successfully developed real-time bioelectronic circuits to bypass spinal cord lesions in clinical trials. His lecture will examine cytokine-gated biofeedback stimulators that enhance activity-dependent plastic restoration.

Academic Biography & Scope
Dr. Sophia Patel has coordinated several of the largest multi-center international clinical trials focusing on neuroprotection and remyelination. Her work centers on autoantibody discovery and the clinical application of macrophage-engineered neural scaffolds. At GCNR 2027, she will present primary clinical efficacy results from the international Phase III trial of GSNR-08.

Academic Biography & Scope
Prof. Alejandro Meléndez is an internationally recognized leader in macrophage transplantation and olfactory ensheathing glia (OEG) therapies. His research team in Madrid pioneered scaffold-based stem cell delivery in chronic stroke models. His presidential lecture will pay tribute to Cajal’s legacy of neural connectivity while laying out the future of stem cell translation.
